The Sakalava People
Origins / Location : Begins on the western coast of Madagascar, extending from the Bay of St. Augustin, the island of Nosy Be, the Bay of Ampasindava, and the Mahavavy River.
Names : Divided into 2 kingdoms, the Boeny (North) and the Menabe (South)
Languages : Sakalava Malagasy
Religion : Ancestor-focused system centered on the worship of royal ancestors known as tromba. These ancestral spirits are divided into two descent groups: the Zafin’i’mena (Grandchildren of Gold) and Zafin’i’fotsy (Grandchildren of Silver)
Ge'ez
Ge'ez in itself is no longer a spoken vernacular, but its script is used as a liturgical language and adapted to write Amharic, Tigrinya, and Tigre.
